Hey Paul, thanks for the great suggestion. That’s definitely something we are looking into. It would be very powerful and efficient to just have the @mentions suggested. Stay tuned.

yes, this is badly needed, same goes for mentioning people and pages in facebook posts

I'd really like to see smart autocomplete in Buffer that can tag a Twitter username, Facebook page, LinkedIn page/company, and so on. It would be a little more work for a user to select each one when using an @mention in Buffer, but it would make a big difference in the output of the post to each social network to include the tagged account.

Fully agree w/ Matthew Kulp. Really missing that feature!

I agree with Peter Thomson. I love the Buffer safari extension but it doesn't save me much time because I end up searching the site, google or twitter for the proper twitter handle before posting.

If the extension had a Twitter-linked quick search or pulled the proper twitter handle from the code, I would be delighted.

The @mention could be autosuggested from any text that says "Follow me on Twitter" on the blog page. Even if it wasn't always right it would be a killer feature for making buffered tweets more personal and giving credit where it's due.

I assume you are also considering mentions in Facebook as well @Leo

Many Thanks, great app and soooo simple to use, love it.

YES, PLEASE! :) Autofill for hashtags would be nice, as well!

This is badly needed!! I'm in the same boat. With Twitter you always want to mention people who wrote a post but its hard remembering their Twitter names. I find myself always having to have a Twitter page open so I can search and find them. Kind of lessens the impact of Buffer if you can't do that.

+1 this is a pain for me at the moment when using twitter, because their autocomplete doesn't work for all the people I follow (weird) but buffer doesn't autocomplete at all :( would make it much easier and you could even get it right :)

Definitely needed - otherwise, i have to have twitter open in a separate window in order to remember people's obscure twitter handles.

Instead of autocomplete from my follower/friend list, I would prefer Buffer searches on the page for a reference to the author's twitter account. So the Buffer builds a tweet like this
        <some text highlighted on web page> http://bit.ly/blah by @username

Yes! Please make this happen sometime soon. I'm terrible at remembering the handles of people I tweet to (especially those which are spelled in a strange way) and the lack of auto-complete has been a major inconvenience for me on a daily basis. Other than that I LOVE the app. Thank you!
