Allow usage of personal URL shorteners like YOURLS.
Would be good to be able to use a personal URL shortener service rather than BITLY. For example, I have my own service using the YOURLS software.
Thanks a lot for stopping by here and that’s a terrific suggestion. Adding other URL shorteners is definitely something we want to do, it is at the moment not quite what we focus on!
I will keep you posted in this thread for sure thought as soon as we get to it! :)
Please feel free to give me a shout here or on Twitter @bufferapp any time! :)
This is a DEAL BREAKER for me.

bit.ly offers custom short URLs on their free accounts: http://support.bitly.com/knowledgebase/articles/76741-how-do-i-set-up-a-custom-short-domain-
probably not what you had in mind, but it's one solution :o)

There is a great WordPress plugin ( http://wordpress.org/plugins/yourls-link-creator/) if you need help in implementing it. The WordPress plugin could be a sample on how to integrate with yourls.

Please add yourls integration, it has a nice web api that you can allow us to paste in our api endpoint to in the app. I would love to get rid of my custom bitly of j1c.co in favor of rolling my own yourl instance. Thanks!

I do really hop you can add Yourls integration. There is so much spam on the commercial link shorteners so I do rarely click on any bit.ly link. And for a Yourls give a small company the opportunity to make great seo and look professional for free!
I am no developer but I do hope the new update with updated API fitures make it easier for bufferapp to make integration. And I do believe you while get many pro customers if we do get this opportunity.

Is there an update on this? I work for a major newspaper, and I'd love to bring Buffer into the newsroom for our web team. But we pay for a URL shortener connected to our site and for social media, so our editors would want to only use Buffer with that option.
And since we have multiple Twitter and Facebook accts, we'd use the Awesome plan of course.

FYI, making your own short URL is very easy to do on your own.
Buy a cheap short name, and add it to bit.ly or cl.ly. I blogged about it here: http://www.squareflair.com/blog/making-your-own-tiny-url-and-making-it-awesome.html

I'd like to see support for http://s.coop
I recently wrote about Displaying Advertisements before redirection in Yourls. You should read it. :)
Thanks! Happy New Year

Would love this feature, that will seal the deal :)
I agree. I've had so many problems with Bitly, and have begun the work to convert everything to my own managed URL shortener. The problem is, of course, that Bitly is so integrated with services. BUT I can never get them to answer emails or tweets when I have a problem - their customer service is non-existent.
Do we have to shorten the URL, is there an option not to do that?
i use de.tk
Having the ability to link my custom Yourls account would convert me from the free user to a paid customer. I'm sick of having to rely on third party shorteners spread across multiple services, so I now host my own. It would be fantastic to be able to use Yourls with Buffer App, so I wholeheartedly add +1 for this suggestion.
I use http://www.ttwi.st which is a premium URL shortener made for Internet Marketers. They are Clickbank friendly, have great tracking and have their own API. Your stats are also your own rather than having links shared with other people like some other URL shorteners.
yourls integration would be huge. Please consider this feature
